I am married to an amazing man, John Gandara. Together we have 3 children, Mason 8 and twins Ian and Ava 5. Ever since I can remember, my dream was to become a wife and mother. Twelve years age, when I met John, part of that dream came true; we were married in 1998. Three years later, we had our 1st child, Mason and my dream was complete.
A year after giving birth to my twins, I noticed that I still had about 20lbs of baby weight that was still “hanging” around. That’s when I decided to do something about it. Through a change in eating habits and exercise, (I have earned a Black Belt in Korean Hapkido), I lost those stubborn 20lbs and an extra 10.
As a former Miss Miami, I decided that this might be the time to compete in the Mrs. California United States pageant. One of my goals is to form a Non-Profit organization benefiting children with HIV/AIDS.
My main focus in life is raising my children and teaching them that each and every family forms the nucleus of our society. Through community involvement, volunteer work and giving our children a foundation built on love, communication and respect, we create a strong nucleus of people, and a destiny we can celebrate.
This was such an amazing experience to share with my children. At first I thought that after they saw how big the crowd was, there was "NO-WAY" they were going to get on stage. I was wrong!!!! They were amazing! We were given the V.I.P. treatment .... private SUV, V.I.P. breakfast and lunch, AWESOME gift bags for each of us and a "Personal escort" the entire time. Thank you Hilton Family of Hotels!!!!!
